Deathrow Alphabet

With this we created an alphabet, each symbol in the alphabet represents and emotion that starts with that letter, for example, A is alone, C is cry, M is memories, etc. We were trying to put across these emotions through using simple symbols. We then experimented with different ways the symbols could be used to increase their effectiveness (see below)

In this instance we embedded the symbol for P into rough concrete wall to try and increase the effect it had and to make the viewer give the piece as a whole more thought.

With this piece we looked at embedding the symbol for footsteps into the floor of an actual deathrow walk. We wanted to try and increase the effectiveness of the image through use of the symbol and to make the viewer think about the image more.

With this instance we looked at using the symbols to try and show how someone might be feeling. To replace them with symbols or to categorise their emotions.
